As a family, we’ve lived at Ayshford Court since 2004 and have had many happy years here raising the children, and now that they’ve almost left (although they often pop back!), we have ample space to welcome our guests, to offer them lovely, spacious accommodation and delicious breakfasts in the dining room.
So, why did we think this would make the perfect bed and breakfast? The main reason; it has spirit. It has something rustic and unique that we’ve loved for so many years, we’re keen to share this for those who might be passing through.
The house has a large walled garden to one side where croquet is often played in the summer and a small wood and a meadow which runs down to the canal.
We’re proud to say that Ayshford is often admired by passers-by as they walk, jog, cycle, fish and bird watch along the towpath or kayak on the water. People often pop in to visit the little 15th-century chapel in the field surrounded by sheep, a haven of peace and beauty.
Should you stay with us and wish to explore the canal by bike, we have 2 that you can borrow and on that subject if you forget something during your stay, we have spare umbrellas, toothbrushes, razors etc ……all you need to do is ask.
We love meeting people from all over the world, and je parle français and parlo Italiano.
Richard has very recently retired from working for many years in nearby Exeter and is now ready to help me in the house and garden!
We very much look forward to your stay.
Richard and Lucy
